How to Use The Winning Tan – Step by Step Guide

Skin Preparation – The Week Before the Contest

Proper skin preparation is essential for achieving the best possible contest color.

• Exfoliate your skin daily using Jan Tana Body Scrub to remove dead skin cells and create a smooth, even surface.
• After exfoliating, apply Jan Tana Body Lotion every day to keep the skin hydrated and maintain the correct pH balance.

⚠️ Important:
Do not apply Ultra 1 until the day of the competition.

The Night Before the Contest

1. Apply Green Away

Spray Jan Tana Green Away over your body, especially under the arms.

• This helps keep the skin fresh since deodorant must not be used.
• Allow the product to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

2. Apply Hi-Def Color – Base Color

Once Green Away has dried:

• Apply one even coat of Jan Tana Hi-Def Color over the entire body as your base color.
• Hi-Def provides a medium dark finish and creates the perfect foundation for your contest tan.
• The formula is designed to work beautifully for all athletes and competition categories.
• Let the color develop overnight.

Contest Day

1. Apply Ultra 1 – Stage Color

On the day of the competition, apply Ultra 1 as your stage color.

• Ultra 1 delivers an ultra dark finish designed specifically for stage lighting and maximum muscle definition.
• Suitable for all athletes looking for a deep, professional stage-ready result.
• Spray the product evenly over the body.
• Use a tanning puff or application glove to blend the color smoothly.
• For a darker result, additional coats may be applied if needed.

⚠️ Do not rinse off the color until after the competition.

2. Before Going on Stage

Just before stepping on stage:

• Pump up backstage to enhance muscle definition.
• Apply Jan Tana Glaze for extra shine and a more defined appearance.

Important Notes

Avoid Other Products

Do not use any other tanning products before or after applying Jan Tana color.

• Tanning beds are not necessary.
• Do not apply oils, PAM cooking spray, or any other products over your contest color.

Many products contain petroleum, which can cause the color to streak or run.

Do Not Use Deodorant

Do not apply deodorant before or after tanning.

• Deodorant can alter the skin’s pH balance and may cause the underarm area to turn green.
